Čáp Lookout Tower

Čáp Lookout Tower

Don’t miss the view from the highest peak of the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks, from the newly built Čáp Lookout Tower located on the summit of the same name. After climbing to an altitude of 786 meters above sea level, you’ll be rewarded with views of the Krkonoše Mountains (Giant Mountains), Poland, the Orlické and Stołowe Mountains, as well as the Adršpach-Teplice rock formations. The tower is accessible at any time.

A step back in time
The history of the lookout tower doesn’t go back very far. Construction began on September 9, 2014, on pre-prepared concrete foundations. Due to the difficult-to-access terrain, the tower had to be assembled with the help of a helicopter, which in itself became a tourist attraction. The grand opening took place on September 20, 2014.

What to look forward to
The lookout tower stands at an elevation of 797 meters and is made primarily of wood and steel. You’ll need to climb steel spiral stairs to reach the two viewing platforms. The tower’s natural look is enhanced by eight wooden pillars. From the platforms, located at heights of 4 and 9 meters, you can enjoy views of the Krkonoše, the Orlické Mountains, Poland, and the surrounding landscape of Adršpach.

How to get there
From the settlement of Skály, follow the green tourist trail. After about 1 km of gentle ascent, you’ll reach the Čáp Lookout Tower. If you're coming from Teplice nad Metují, follow the same green trail – it’s a 7 km hike from there.
